VALVE_ID_LAN help

Hi, I'm a steam user. There's this one non steam server I play on the glitches my steam. When i enter status in console it shows VALVE_ID_LAN. But in other non-steam/steam servers I am able to view my steam id. Is this a glitch?? The one non steam server i play on is set up using a box. The other servers that have been generated from the same box allows me to view my steam id. Can anyone help?
